JONESBORO, Ark. (2/16/19) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team falls to sixth place in a pool of 12 after the second day of competition at the Stephen F. Austin Stormin’ Lady Jack Classic in Dallas, Texas on Saturday.
Nebraska is in first-place with a total pinfall of 9,821, while Sam Houston State follows in second with a total pinfall of 9,800, Vanderbilt trails in third with a total pinfall of 9,745 and McKendree rounds out the top-four with a total pinfall of 9,577.
The Red Wolves started got off to a slow start falling to Wisconsin (981-914) and Vanderbilt (980-950) before defeating Tulane 1,114-892. The Scarlet and Black struggled to find a rhythm offensively when it dropped to straight contest to Nebraska (983-893) and Stephen F. Austin (967-912).
Southland Conference Player of the Month Denisyha Waller, led the Red Wolves in fifth in the individual standings with a total pinfall of 1,040 on a 208.0 average, while Leah Glazer followed 11th with a total pinfall of 998 on a 199.60 average.
On Sunday, a sixth and final traditional team match will be bowled at 8:30 a.m., before two rounds of best 4-of-7 bracket play Baker matches take place.
Sunday's bracket play will determine a Stormin' Ladyjack Classic Champion with seeding dependent on each team's pinfall total from Friday's Baker matches and the six traditional team matches.
