LINCOLN, Neb. (3/1/19) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team is in third place with a total pinfall of 4,189 after one day of competition at the Big Red invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
“We played well today and need to play like this tomorrow,” said A-State head coach Justin Kostick. “The match we lost we shot 1,100 and tied. The problem is there is no such thing as a good loss. In this tournament the characteristics of the house is that the lanes play pretty easy so we need to put on our striking shoes.”
The Red Wolves got off to a hot start when they defeated the University of Central Missouri 1021-1010, Wisconsin-Whitewater 1,007-948 and Valpo 1,051-955 before tying with Nebraska at 1,100 earning a half win.
Saturday’s gameplay will consist of five traditional games beginning at 8:35 a.m. and Sunday's best-four-of-seven baker style matches will begin at 8:55 a.m.
