JONESBORO, Ark. (4/3/19) – Senior sprinter Caitland Smith was named the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

Smith ran in the 100-meter dash for the first time on the outdoor schedule and holds the top time in the league after a third place finish of 11.25w seconds at the Texas Relays. A time of 11.34 seconds in the prelims ranked her third among the competitors and fourth on the NCAA West Region performance list and 12th nationally.

A-State is scheduled to compete at the Georgia Spec Towns Invitational this weekend. The Red Wolves Open is scheduled for April 19-20 at the A-State Track & Field Complex and A-State will host the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships May 10-12.
