JONESBORO, Ark. (8/28/19) – Although Arkansas State’s cross country season is not slated to begin until Sept. 21, the Sun Belt Conference announced its preseason coaches’ poll and runners to watch for the 2019 campaign.

In the preseason poll, the league’s coaches picked the A-State women to finish third in the conference, with the men’s team predicted to finish eighth. Last season, the Red Wolves finished third as a team in the women’s 5K while the men finished eighth in the 8K.

Pauline Meyer, A-State’s No. 2 finisher at the conference meet a year ago, was listed as one of the league’s Top 7 Women’s Runners to Watch after earning an eighth-place finish.

The Red Wolves open the 2019 cross country season on Sept. 21 in Memphis at the Rhodes Invitational. On the men’s side, A-State returns all seven runners from the conference championships, while the women return four of their seven competitors.
