CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (9/15/19) – Senior Zan Luka Stirn carded a first round 66 (-6) to hold the individual lead at the season opener for Arkansas State men’s golf at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Cedar Rapids Country Club.

Strin fired his opening round bogey-free and his 66 is one stroke shy of his career best round. Strin holds a two-stroke lead on the individual leaderboard among 93 competitors. Freshmen Adam Thorp and Cade Uhlenhake each carded an even-par 72 for the opening round to tie for 19th while sophomore Luka Naglic carded a 74 (+2) to rank tied for 45th. Sophomore transfer Jack Madden finished +4 (76) for a tie for 69th and Julien Sale was +8 (80) to tie for 90th.

A-State stands fourth among 16 teams after totaling a first-round score of 288 (E). Ball State leads after finishing with a total of 279 (-9) while host Iowa (-5) and Campbell (-4) round out the top three.
