MOBILE, Ala. (9/16/19) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team had three players collect top-25 finishes at the USA Intercollegiate, where the Red Wolves finished in sixth place out of 16 teams at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Magnolia Grove Crossings Course.

A-State, which shot a combined 881 (+17) for its best three-round score in program history, was led by senior Grayson Gladden, who collected her second consecutive top-10 finish in as many events this season. Junior Maria Jose Atristain Vega and sophomore Olivia Schmidt tied for 20th to join Gladden (T10) inside the top-25 individual finishers.

The Red Wolves 54-hole total of 881 (bests the previous three-round program best of 884 set last season in the Spring Break Shootout. UAB took the team title with a total of 868 (+4). Six Sun Belt Conference teams were among the 16-team field and A-State finished five strokes behind Troy (+12) for the top finish among those six squads.

Gladden carded a final round 74 (+2) to finish the tournament level with a total of 216, tying her career best three-round total. Atristain Vega closed the tournament with a 75 (+3) to finish with a total of 221 (+5), one stroke shy of her career best. Schmidt carded a third round 73 (+1) to finish at 221 (+5), tied for her best career three-round score. Freshman Kayla Burke placed tied for 44th at 225 (+9) and freshman Elise Schultz was tied for 66th at 230 (+14). Freshman Sydni Leung competed as an individual and placed tied for 52nd with a total of 227 (+11).
