HOT SPRINGS VILLIAGE, Ark. (10/30/17) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team improved to 11th place among 15 teams Monday after completing the second round of the Little Rock Golf Classic with a 312 at the Diamante Golf Club.

Through 36 holes, Arkansas State has carded a 620 as a team and is being led by two players who are among the top-20 leaders. Senior Sarah Childers is tied for 4th place after posting a second-round 76 and shooting a 148 total, while junior Aracelly Jimenez Rios is tied for 16th place after shooting a 78 in today’s round and recording a 151 total.

Also competing for A-State, senior Kirsten Garner is tied for 57th with a 159 (81-78) total, while sophomore Marisa Marquez is tied for 66th place after shooting a two-round 162 (82-80). Junior Beth Ann Compton, who is tied for 71st with a 165, rounded out the team scoring for the Red Wolves with a second-round 81.

Sophomore Grayson Gladden and senior Emma Miller lead the way among the individual player rankings as they sit in ties for 47th and 50th place, respectfully. Gladden shot a second-round 79 to post a 157 total, while Miller also carded a second-round 79 to finish with a 158 total. Tied for 77th place, sophomore Monica Lieving shot a two-round 169 (85-84).

The final 18 holes of the tournament will be played Tuesday.
