HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. (10/29/18) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team shot a second-round 308 Monday at the Little Rock Golf Classic, giving it a combined 626 to place it tied for 13th among 16 teams at the three-day tournament.


The Red Wolves cut 10 strokes off their first-round score at the Diamante Country Club and improved one spot in the standings.  A-State is currently five strokes behind 12th-place UT Arlington and within 10 strokes of eighth-place Utah Valley.  Western Kentucky and Missouri State both have a 597 combined score to place them atop the leaderboard.


Competing as part of A-State’s lineup counting towards the team score, Beth Ann Compton is tied for 36th place with a combined 155 (77-78).  Aracelly Jimenez Rios and Grayson Gladden both hold a 156 total score to place them tied for 44th.


Playing as an individual, Madison Smith stands tied for 25th with a combined 153 (78-75).  Also among the top 40 leaders for A-State, Maria Jose Atristain is tied with Compton for 36th place.


The 54-hole tournament will conclude Tuesday with the third-and-final round.
