LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (10/24/17) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team finished tied for sixth place with Houston Baptist and Bradley University at the Little Rock Invitational Tournament after shooting a third-round 310 on a windy day to card an 899 for the tournament at Chenal Country Club.

The Red Wolves were led by three players that finished among the top-20 in the individual standings. Senior Tanner Napier led the way by posting a third-round 75 to card a 216 total, for a fourth-place finish, his best of the season. Junior Joel Wendin finished tied for 11th place after posting a 74 in back-to-back rounds to record a 221 total.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Zan Luka Stirn tied Napier for fourth place, his best finish of the season, after posting a season-low 68 in the first round before following that up with a second-round 71 and a third-round 77 to post a 216 total. Stirn’s three-round total of 216 is his best of the year. Sophomore Patrik Jericha also competed as an individual in his first tournament appearance of the season and recorded a 241 (80-79-82).

Also competing for A-State, junior Jakub Bares finished tied for 35th after shooting a third-round 81 to record a 230 total score. Senior Andrew Huseman turned in a total score of 235 (76-79-80) to finish tied for 48th. Junior Trent Jones finished tied for 59th after recording a 240 (80-76-84).

The Arkansas State men’s golf team will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Duck Commander Intercollegiate in El Dorado, Ark.
