DADE CITY, Fla. (03/12/18) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team completed the first two rounds of play Monday at the Spring Break Shootout in 10th place among 14 teams after carding a combined 620 at the Lake Jovita Country Club.

The Red Wolves finished the first two rounds of the tournament only one stroke behind ninth-place Georgia Southern and just two strokes behind eighth-place Oakland University. A-State carded a first-round 314 before improving their second-round score to a 306.

Junior Aracelly Jimenez Rios, who currently sits tied for 19th place among 84 players, led Arkansas State by carding a first-round 78 and second-round 75 to register a total of 153. Jimenez Rios stands just three strokes back from the top-10 individual players.

Also competing for the Red Wolves, senior Sarah Childers is tied for 27th after posting a 79 and 76 and finishing with a 155. Junior Beth Ann Compton and sophomore Grayson Gladden both are tied for 32nd with a two-round total of 156.

Compton carded a 79 and 77, while Gladden registered a 78 for both rounds. Sophomore Marisa Marquez completed the first two rounds with a 162 and is tied for 68th after a first-round 79 and a second-round 83.

The Spring Break Shootout will conclude on Tuesday with the third-and-final round.
