JONESBORO,
Ark. (4/6/12) - Arkansas State head women's soccer coach Tafadzwa Ziyenge
announced Friday the signing of Amanda Marie Lee (Brampton, Ontario, Canada)
who will join the Red Wolves soccer program in the fall. The addition of Lee
pushes the ASU women's soccer signing class to 12 for the fall.
Lee, a
5-6 goalkeeper, joins A-State after a successful prep career at St. Marguerite
D'Youville Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario. She led the varsity squad as
captain for four years including reaching the ROPSSAA Finals in 2010 & 2011
and won the Soccer Centre High School Tournament in 2011.
Lee also
played club soccer for the U-21 Burlington Bayhawks which advanced to the
Ontario Cup Finals in 2011 and won the Western Ontario Youth Soccer League
Championship in 2010 & 2011.
"We are very fortunate to get a capable player of Amanda's magnitude
this late in the recruiting period," said Ziyenge. "She is a very technical
goalkeeper that we feel can come in and make a challenge for playing time."
