JONESBORO, Ark. (9/7/12) – Arkansas State sophomore Kristina
Aubert finished first at the UALR Invitational Cross Country meet in Little
Rock on Friday evening.
Aubert finished the race with a time of 17:45.20, nearly 30
seconds faster than her next closest competitor. Abbey Dixon finished in fourth
place with a time of 18:47.50, while Rexi Parcells was sixth after finishing
the race in 18:52.34.
Sam Salinas finished the race in eight place with a time of
19:21.93, while Heather Newberry finished the race in 19:55.00 to finish 14th.
Chelsey Roberson (20:09.00) finished in 18th place while Tilda
Helgesson (20:11.39) finished in 19th place to round out the top-20
finishers for ASU.
The women’s team won all dual scoring match-ups against host and conference foe Arkansas-Little Rock. Other teams in the fiield included Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Freed-Hardman, Harding, Hendrix, John Brown, Mississippi Valley State and Central Arkansas.
On the men’s side, Luke Lindsley paced A-State by finishing in 11th
place with a time of 15:53.02, while Lance Beckman (16:25.26) finished in the
20th spot out of 115 runners. David Mills finished in 23rd
place with a time of 16:34.14, while Briar Becton finished 26th with
a time of 16:36.82.
The Red Wolves will return to action Saturday, Sept., 29 when they will send split squads to the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn., and the Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Ky.
