2014:  Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference selection by USA Today Sports (first team) and Athlon Sports (second team).

2013:  Named the GoDaddy Bowl MVP after recording a career-high 212 yards of total offense (career-high 115 passing yards/97 rushing yards), and leading the Red Wolves on a three-play, 55-yard game-winning drive in the final1:25 . . . Knighten was 2-for-2 passing on the drive for 49 yards, ran for an additional six yards on one attempt, and threw a 13-yard touchdown with 32 seconds left to Allen Muse . . . Played in 10 games, seeing his most extensive action in three of the final four games . . . The Red Wolves’ regular-season finale saw Knighten replace injured starting quarterback Adam Kennedy in the second quarter and go on to record 47 rushing yards (12 attempts), a career-tying two rushing touchdowns and 61 passing yards (11-of-17) while almost leading A-State to a victory against Western Kentucky . . .  Rushed for a career-high 101 yards and two touchdowns on just three attempts in A-State’s season opener against UAPB . . . Threw two touchdown passes (vs. Ball State and Memphis) on the season and recorded five rushing scores . . . Finished the year with 559 yards total offense, which was the third most on the team . . . A dual-threat quarterback, Knighten rushed for 358 yards on 55 attempts for a 6.3 average . . . Posted a long rush of 79 yards against UAPB . . . 2012:  Saw action in eight games . . . Recorded 16 rushing attempts for 96 yards, including a long run of 35 yards . . . Completed 3-of-5 passing attempts for 44 yards and one touchdown . . . All five attempts came over a three game span against Nebraska, Alcorn State and Western Kentucky . . . Completed 2-of-2 passes for 40 yards with a long of 33, all season highs, against Alcorn State . . . Also rushed for a season-high 37 yards against Alcorn State . . . Returned one kickoff for seven yards.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Parade All-America selection - just the second in school history along with RB Jonathan Adams in 1998 . . . Senior season was named Associated Press Arkansas Super Team . . . Recorded 82 touchdowns as a senior, leading the Bruins to the Class 4A sate championship with a 14-0 record . . . Completed 260-of-353 passing attempts (73.6 pct.) for 4,557 yards and 66 touchdowns, while also running for 840 yards (8.0 ypr) and 15 more touchdowns . . . Also caught 6 passes for 124 yards and 1 TD . . . Named all-state as both a junior and senior . . . Ran for 3 and passed for 2 touchdowns in a 63-28 victory over Malvern in the state title game . . .
