JONESBORO, Ark. (10/12/17) – The Arkansas State women’s soccer team has earned a team academic award from the United Soccer Coaches for its outstanding performance in the classroom for the 2016-17 academic year.

The USC recently released their College Team Academic Awards winners for the 2016-17 season and the Red Wolves were among 544 women’s teams to receive the honor. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point of average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

The program had 18 student-athletes post a 3.0 GPA of better with 11 named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List (3.5 GPA or better). The squad also finished the academic year with a composite GPA of 3.498.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game.

United Soccer Coaches works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community. 

The Red Wolves return to the field Friday, Oct. 13 for a Sun Belt Conference showdown at South Alabama. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
