JONESBORO, Ark. (1/18/18) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team is set to compete at the Kutztown Invitational Jan. 19-21 at Hiester Lanes in Reading, Pa., as part of a 28-team field, including 17 ranked squads and another five that are receiving votes.

Arkansas State (36-16), ranked third in the latest NTCA Poll, is one of nine teams positioned in the top 10 scheduled to compete at the KU Invitational along with No. 2 McKendree, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 6 Delaware State, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 9 Tulane, and No. 10 Fairleigh Dickinson. Other ranked teams in attendance will be No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 13 Adelphi, No. 14 UAB, No. 14 LIU Brooklyn, No. 16 Saint Francis University, No. 17 North Carolina A&T, No. 18 Wisconsin-Whitewater, and No. 24 Monmouth.

Duquesne, Youngstown State, host Kutztown, Franklin Pierce University, and St. Francis College are among the teams receiving votes set to bowl, while Morgan State, Chestnut Hill College, Howard, Norfolk State, Bethune-Cookman, and Medaille College round out the field.

Action gets underway at 9:55 a.m. (CT) Friday morning with five, five-game Baker matches before Saturday’s competition is slated to feature five traditional team matches beginning at 8:25 a.m. (CT). The tournament will conclude Sunday with three best-of-seven Baker matches starting at 7:25 a.m. (CT).

This is the Red Wolves first trip to the KU Invitational since the 2014-15 season when the team registered a 9-5 record at the event and finished sixth. A-State is coming off a fourth-place finish and 9-4 record at its host tournament, the Mid-Winter Invitational, last weekend.
