RIO VERDE, Ariz. (02/25/18) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team finished the Rio Verde Invitational at the Quail Run Golf Course in third place among 17 teams after recording a final-round 305 Sunday.

The Red Wolves ended the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a total score of 909, which was just seven strokes back from tournament-champion Seton Hall.

A-State finished with two players among the top-25 individual leaders. Senior Sarah Childers posted a career-best finish of third place after posting a third-round 76 to finish with a 54-hole total of 221. Sophomore Grayson Gladden finished 15th after completing the third round with a 73 for a total of 226.

Also competing for the Red Wolves, junior Aracelly Jimenez Rios finished tied for 26th after carding a third-round 81 to finish with a 230, while junior Beth Ann Compton registered a third-round 76 to finish with a 235 and tied for 43rd. Senior Emma Miller posted a third-round 80 to finish tied for 67th with a 54-hole total of 241.

The Arkansas State women’s golf team will return to action Sunday, March 11, at the Spring Break Shootout.
