JONESBORO, Ark. (7/16/09) – The Sun Belt
Conference Football Media Days are scheduled to get underway Monday when the
conference kicks off the annual event from the campuses of each of the nine football-playing
member institutions using 21st century technology.
The conference will take advantage of streaming
internet technology to transition the preseason meetings to a web-based event,
with each of the nine head coaches and one student-athlete from each school taking
center stage for a question-and-answer session.
Red Wolves Head Coach Steve Roberts and senior defensive end Alex
Carrington will represent Arkansas State football Monday at 11:00 a.m.
Media Days will get underway at 9:45 a.m.
Monday with a welcome and announcements from members of the Sun Belt Conference
staff, then move on to interviews with the coaches and players at 10:00
a.m. Members of the media can watch
online and participate in the interviews over the phone. In addition to Arkansas State, interview
sessions with coaches and players from Florida Atlantic, Florida International,
Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe will be held Monday. Tuesday's interview sessions will include
representatives from Middle Tennessee State, North Texas, Troy and Western
Kentucky, and will get underway at 9:45 a.m.
The league will also announce its preseason
All-Sun Belt Conference team, the preseason coaches poll and the television
schedule for the upcoming season.
The event is restricted to accredited members
of the media. Those wishing to join the league's online media day event

The Red Wolves 2009 season gets underway
Sept. 5 when ASU hosts Mississippi Valley State in the first of five home
games. Arkansas State begins Sun Belt
Conference play Sept. 26 when the Red Wolves host the Troy Trojans at ASU
Stadium. Season ticket information can
