Everman Joins ASU Baseball Staff

Anthony Everman, who served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Ferrum College the past two seasons, will join the Arkansas State coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the upcoming season.

 

“We are very fortunate to have a quality individual to help both on and off the baseball field at ASU,” said head coach Tommy Raffo. “We are very excited about having him be a part of our staff, and he will be an important part of our program.”

 

Everman will be mainly working with ASU's catchers  and will serve in a secondary role with the Red Wolves hitters. He will also help in the day-to-day operation of the ASU baseball office, assisting in every facet of the program from equipment and field maintenance to audio-visual support and various support groups.

 

Everman served as assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, strength and conditioning coach and adjunct professor in the physical education/health sciences department at Ferrum.

 

During his tenure at Ferrum, the Panthers earned regular season and USA South Tournament championships advancing to the 2007 NCAA Division III south regional, in which they finished second.

 

“Anthony brings knowledge and experience at the Division I level that will help the Red Wolf baseball program improve and move forward,” added Raffo.

 

Prior to coming to Ferrum, Everman was the manager and head coach of the Covington Lumberjacks in Covington , Va., a wood bat summer league team comprised of collegiate players which competes in the Valley Baseball League. Everman led the Lumberjacks to the league championship in 2005.

 

Everman also served three seasons as an assistant coach at Virginia Tech, and had stops as an assistant coach at his alma mater Loras College (Iowa) and at Waukon High School in Waukon, Iowa.

 

Everman graduated with honors from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa where he played first and third base while also pitching, playing in the outfield and catching. He earned his maters of science degree in education-physical education from Virginia Tech.
