Red Wolves Add DeGrace to Baseball Roster

JONESBORO (7/18/08) ? Arkansas State head baseball coach Tommy Raffo announced Friday that Kyle DeGrace has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at ASU.

DeGrace, a 5-11, 205 utility player from Mississauga, Canada, played the last two seasons at Connors State (Okla.) College, where he helped the Cowboys advance to the 2008 NJCAA World Series.

“We are excited about Kyle joining the Red Wolves baseball family,” said Raffo.  “He will be an excellent addition to this year's recruiting class.  He brings a lot to the table as he can play many positions.  He brings experience as a catcher, a corner infielder and corner outfielder.  Kyle has produced offensively at the junior college level and we are looking forward to him contributing to Arkansas State baseball.”

“Assistant coaches Chris Cook and Justin Meccage did a wonderful job during the recruiting process with Kyle, keeping him updated on the Arkansas State baseball program,” added Raffo.

As a sophomore at Connors State, DeGrace hit .402 with 16 home runs and 56 RBI's.  He was a first-team All-Region 2 selection and a first-team All-South Central District selection under the direction of head coach Perry Keith.  Prior to his two seasons at Connors State, he played in the Ontario Blue Jays organization under head coach Dan Bleiwas.
